HangZhou

Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it’s the capital of Zhejiang province and lies 180km southwest of Shanghai. Hangzhou is one of the seven ancient capitals of China, and one of the most renowned and prosperous cities in China – a position it has held for most of the last 1000 years of its 2200-year existence. It’s also known for its natural scenery.
It is believed that Hangzhou was the largest city in the world from most of the time between 1180 and 1358, and therefore has a long history of trade and infrastructure development. Jobs are plentiful and transport to and around the city is well supplied. A large number of universities and technical schools are located in the city, leading to a large renting student population. Direct flights are available to many countries and most large cities in China.
Accommodation is available either inside the city ramparts in the historic sectors, or further out in more modern villas and apartments.
